Christine Poulin was born in
the small village of L'Orignal, in Eastern Ontario. It is situated
between Montreal and Ottawa and is a mostly French speaking region. She
grew up in the country, surrounded by nature... (an absolute must for
her) and from a very young age an interest for drawing and painting had
started to be felt, urging her to express herself. In fact, it's not
really an interest, it’s more of an innate talent which is surfacing
rapidly. Creative ideas abound in so many ways and this talent expands
when she reaches her teenage years. It is translated via original
paintings, not reproductions. Still life, abstracts, lanscapes... A
little bit of everything. It was a time for exploration when she
expressed her emotions, her feelings, her states of mind and hardly
touched the depths she now reaches.

Through high school and an
introduction course in drawing, her interest seems to intensify even
more. This allows her to find that she doesn't really want to take any
additional courses but instead wants to experiment by herself, invent and
create. She then decides to step into this wonderful world of creativity
with her already developed skills and with those that will come to her.
She experiments with pottery, acrylic and oil painting, watercolor, wood
carving, charcoal, dry and oil pastels, stainglass... etc.
During high school, this way
of expressing herself is put aside but the ideas continue to erupt. Many
years go by and the need to create takes over, but this time, a style with
a personal touch is emerging, a new identity is starting to take place.

The fascination she has for
the different cultures, civilizations, traditions and religions is
manifesting itself. Her paintings are first of all an exploration of the
civilizations that have set foot on this planet of ours. This will to
distinguish herself, not to follow anyone's footsteps, any
pre-established movement, to constantly experiment, is growing and guiding
her. At this point and time, a new idea prevails : creating from this
basis of fascination and will, her collection “Révélations” is born.
Between 2000 and 2005, ancient calligraphies are used on canvas...
Messages of wisdom and enlightenment are transmitted.
From this fascination of the
multiple cultures, civilizations and traditions, an evolution takes place
in 2005 and 2006. It's time for “Inspiration Divine” to be born. A
personal evolution causes a transformation regarding creativity and the
production of the next paintings. Christine Poulin believes that her
paintings are in fact an extension of self. This is something she keeps
repeating. Her paintings are created from a basic premise : a soul, a
message must show through, must be felt. Using various materials found on
shelves and in nature, a very particular and unique final product is
created combining relief, texture and reflection. The texture changes on
each of the paintings, it might change from being very subtle to being
dominant on the same piece of art. The relief is sometimes very
noticeable and at other times is hardly evident. Acrylic paint is
preeminent. Through all this, strokes of pastels and charcoals, golden,
copper and silver leaves add the final touch. Multiple coats of varnish
are applied creating a mirror-like finish.

Through her art, Christine
Poulin delivers the vision she has of this world we live in. “Inspiration
Divine”, is a representation of the beauty present everywhere around us
and in us all. A world where respect and love exist hand in hand even if
they sometimes seem to be illusive. Be conscious of the world you are
creating for you have the power to create the most extraordinary and
divine reality... your own.
A message of Hope. A
message representing a world where the opening of the heart and the soul
are simply the basic seeds and foundations of the World we wish to live
in. It is delivered to you through colors, light, brush strokes, relief,
texture and reflection. Let's adopt it and integrate it so that we can at
last be part of it.
A voyage into the core of
the human being and its real nature. This artist invites you to see the
World in a new way... The World of your dreams.
Bon voyage !
